Busy weekend

Last weekend, just like other last weekends, was a busy one. I remembered having really restfull weekend (during pre-marriage life), that I had nothing at all to do, except indulging in a very good novel or watching movies to my heart content.

Last Friday, my family came over for Zaid’s (a cousin) wedding. We planned to go to Abang Azim’s house in SK, but turned out that were having dinner in San Fransisco’s Pizza, Bangi. So, instead of going all the way to SK, we just met them there. Then, we proceeded to Carrefour to buy some groceries. I slept late that night.

On Saturday morning, (God bless my mom) I woke up with breakfast on the table. I’ve been having difficulties with cooking since few weeks ago. Then, we went to see the new house we are moving into next month! I didn’t put high expectation on it as I don’t want to disappoint myself. But, the place turn out great. It has both wet & dry kitchen (although the kitchen is situated near the main entrance (again) - ok, I promise, the next house we are going to live in will not have a kitchen at the entrance of the house!). The living room is spacey - which means we are going to be able to house our relatives and friends, comfortably. The bedrooms are ok. It even has a little space upstairsĀ  that I am planning to make it as my personal library.

AND! A big ‘and’ there. It has little patch of grass (a nice one that is) that I can decorate with pots of flowers!!! It need some weeding work, but I think we can manage it. All in all, I’m pretty satisfied with the house, and excited to move in!

After lunch, we went to Mak Azi’s house to help out with the packing of gifts for Zaid’s wedding. Sleeping late on the previous day caused me hours of migraine.

The next day, Zaid’s reception was held in a hall in his neighbourhood. It went as planned. There was nothing much to do but sit around with cousins and relatives. But having nothing to do at a wedding is pretty much boring. The caterer did such a good job that the relatives did not have to do anything else, but sat around and talked. It was good to catch up with my cousins - who are getting married, just got engaged, going into labour any time soon, who are queueing for labour next year, who have children running all over the place (bullies, fairies, the loud ones, the quiet ones). It was such a harmonious sight. Haha.. By the end of the day, I had migraine again.

So today, is supposed to be my report writing day. I plan to finish all the reports and submit it to my supervisor tomorrow. I hope I can do that. Fingers crossed.

Moving

Yes. We are moving house soon!

I’ve stayed in this little cozy apartment for quite some time now. The landlord is a very nice, kind lady and I really appreciate her kindness. She is also happen to be the late Rosliza’s aunt.

So, for friends who had spent many nights here, well, thanks for doing so. Thanks for keeping me company.

I know I’ll miss this safe haven that I’ve created.

I started staying in this apartment a few years ago. The rent is sooooooo affordable that when I knew about it, I feel that I have to have this. But, I was staying in a flat, sharing with Kak Ina, Mina & Nad. Since Kak Ina did not agree to move out here (and Mina & me were torn between leaving her alone in the flat and so on so forth), we stayed there for a little while. Luckily, Aida & Azrina (who were doing their internship at the moment) were looking for a place to rent. So, seeing the opportunity, I asked them to stay in this apartment.

Then, Nad got a job offer in Shah Alam. Following that, Kak Ina got married. Only then, Mina and me moved in this apartment. We rented it together for some time before Mina decided to further her study in UUM. So, when she left, I lived alone for a little while. I kinda enjoy living alone. Yeah, sometimes, I did long for company, but most of the time, I enjoyed the space. Anyway, I had my family who came over quite frequently. I remember that at least once a month, I’d have guest staying over. Mina would spend her semester break here, studying. Nadia would come for her agony aunt sessions. Sya came over with her cat. Syiefa kept me company (despite the jumping & praying session) when the lightning was so vivid & the thunder was so loud. It was great.

So, when I got married, we decided to stay here for a little while. Just until we can afford somewhere better. Coming this Christmas, it will be the 7th month of our marriage, 7th month of us staying in this humble apartment.

I’ll miss the view, the beautiful sunset and the easy-to-clean-everything-since-it’s-only-a-small-space. Thank you for housing me for all this while. I hope I had taken good care of you. Thank you for sharing your warmth and keep me safe. Thank you.
